Peter DeFazio’s just-introduced legislation that could dedicate as much as 1 million acres of Oregon’s public forest lands to industrial timber production and exempt them from federal environmental safeguards in order to provide money to some county governments. Learn more about DeFazio’s proposed concept, other pending environmental legislation, and alternatives for generating county revenues.

Taylor Wilhour of Cottage Grove traveled with ROAM (Roll Over America), July 26-August 24, pedallng from Portland to Washington, DC. He carried a letter from the Blackberry Pie Society to Congressman Earl Blumenauer regarding supporting low-impact alternative transportation.
